The repeal of the Cassis de Dijon principle on the use of furanocoumarins in cosmetic products will result in high costs. Products available in all neighbouring countries are banned in Switzerland or have to be reformulated.

Complex chemicals legislation
In contrast to cosmetics legislation, chemicals legislation does not recognise any automatic mechanisms within the framework of EU legislation. The SKW's ongoing mission is to avoid divergent Swiss regulations. Therefore, we are in constant dialogue with the relevant authorities and represent the industry's concerns.
