Michel Brülisauer, Head of BU Chemicals, Consumables and Academy
Five questions for Michel Brülisauer, Head of BU Chemicals, Consumables and Academy
What is your company proud of?
Wetrok is a traditional Swiss company with an international focus. For more than 75 years, we have been working continuously to optimise existing products and regularly surprise the market with innovations. We drive innovation from our own resources and have our own research and development infrastructure. The chemical development department, the ATA test laboratory for cleaning chemicals and consumables, and the machine development and test centre are at the heart of this.
What have been the most significant changes in your business in recent years?
The introduction of robots and other advanced technologies has accelerated the automation of cleaning services, resulting in increased efficiency, quality and safety in the cleaning industry. As a company, we have recognised and actively embraced these changes. One example of this is the development of our scrubber-dryer robot, which allows us to stay at the cutting edge of technology and provide an even better service to our customers.
The growing awareness of environmental issues and the need to use environmentally friendly and sustainable cleaning methods has also significantly impacted our business. This requires us to adapt to new legal requirements, select appropriate cleaning products and equipment, and reduce waste and emissions.
Why are you an SKW member, where can the SKW help you the most and what have been your best experiences with the SKW?
As a member of the SKW, we greatly value our access to this extensive network and the associated exchanges of knowledge and experience within our expert group. We benefit from receiving information on all relevant regulatory and technical innovations, as well as industry-specific facts, figures and statistics. Representing the industry's interests in the political and legislative arena is also particularly relevant for us.
Being heavily involved in operations is important to me. On the one hand, I am the owner, but I also see myself as an entrepreneur. That's why I enjoy helping to shape the future and further develop our healthy company the most. Louis Widmer is my lifeblood - and I put my heart and soul into it every day.
What opportunities and challenges do you see for your company in the near future?
We operate in a highly dynamic market environment and see a strong drive among our customers, partners and competitors towards increased digitalisation and automation. It is vital to meet these challenges and associated opportunities with customer-focused innovation. With our Swiss engineering and our local development department, we are well-positioned to respond flexibly to the market.
What are your expectations and concerns for the SKW for the future?
We expect the SKW to continue to represent our industry effectively, ensure the flow of information and remove barriers.
